Why I am qualified to teach Automotive Maintenance |
I started helping my father fix his car and motorcycle when I was three years old. As I grew through my teenage years, my father and I traded places - I became the master and he became my assistant.
I have experience repairing both gasoline and small diesel engines (VW & Mercedes cars). I've repaired American, European, and Asian cars and light trucks. I've done a slew of scheduled maintenance jobs, a handful of timing belt replacements, a number of head gasket replacement jobs, numerous brake jobs, a few shock/strut replacements, and a copule of complete engine overhauls (including a 1977 Datsun 280Z). I've done stereo upgrades, alarm installations, and various electrical repairs. And I've also done body work to resurrect several crashed vehicles.
Today, I mostly do repairs and maintenance for friends and relatives. However, on occasion, I stop to help strangers stranded on the side of the road ("Do a good turn daily").

These include (but are not limited to): perform an oil change, change a tire (as would be done for a flat/puncture), and identify the various gauges/indicators/switches on the dashboard. |
